The Destination
- To preserve and promote the performing Tibetan folk art traditions, very unique of the different regions. To explore and understand their historical relevance and its evolution outside Tibet, through three generations; One born and raised in Tibet, second born and raised in exile in India and the third generation, born and raised in Montreal.
- To give the TIBETAN CANADIANS its due place in the cultural mosaic of this nation of immigrants. In the true spirit of Canada, this project traces that heritage up to its modern day existence, as it influences and interacts with other cultures. The project raises the issues of identification, acknowledgment, development and support of its performing arts in contemporary context of Canadian art scene.
- The project strives to be the springboard to acknowledge and give due recognition to Tibetan artists living here, at the same time create opportunities for them to advance in their vocation as well as train other young artists in professional settings.
- To establish lifelong friendships and facilitate cross-culture collaborations.
